Who we are
Jones’s Joinery is a bespoke joinery business based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, run by Charlie Jones. In this policy, “we” and “us” means Jones’s Joinery. We are responsible for the personal information you share with us through this website, by email or on WhatsApp.
If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email info@jonessjoinery.co.uk.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through our contact form we collect your name, email address, telephone number (if you give it), the type of project and your message. If you contact us by email or WhatsApp we receive whatever you choose to send, which may include photos of your home.
If you become a customer we also keep the details we need to quote, design, make and fit your project, such as your address and drawings or measurements.
How we use it
We use your information to reply to your enquiry, arrange a visit, prepare drawings and quotes, carry out the work and send invoices. We do not use it for anything else, and we will not add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
Under UK data protection law our reasons for using your information are: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, carrying out a contract with you, and our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us. We keep invoices and accounts because the law requires it.
How long we keep it
If an enquiry does not go ahead we keep your details for up to one year, in case you come back to us about the same project, and then delete them.
If you become a customer we keep project and invoice records for as long as we need them for tax purposes and to deal with any questions or guarantee claims about the work.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share it with the services that help us run the business, such as our website host (Hostinger), our email provider and our accountant, and only as much as they need. These providers are required to keep your information secure.
